The Heath Bookshop presents “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever” Birmingham!!
When: Sunday 27th July 2025, 2pm – 3pm
Where: York Road, Kings Heath, B14 7SA
What: “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever” is an event held at locations around the world where participants recreate the music video for Kate Bush’s iconic song ‘Wuthering Heights’ (red dress video version!) coming together to collectively perform the dance seen in the video. The event's inspiration is Shambush's The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience, which took place at the Brighton Fringe in 2013 and created by performance collective Shambush! They attempted to set an unofficial world record for the most people dressed as Kate Bush in one place, with hundreds attending. Since then events have taken place in various locations around the world including Sydney, Copenhagen, Berlin, Folkestone and Preston. There has not yet been a Midlands based The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever. UNTIL NOW!! The event lasts from 2pm 3pm. There will be a run through of the dance with instructions from 2pm before a videoed final run through. Please note this event will be filmed and shared on social media.
Why: Why not?! But, we will be doing the event to raise money for Birmingham charities Anawimhttps://anawim.co.uk/ and WE:ARE (Women’s Empowerment And Recovery Educators) https://www.weareuk.org/ We are asking participants and spectators to donate a minimum of £5 if you are able to, but this is not a requirement if you’re unable to donate. If you would like to donate less than £5 there will be donation points on York Road on the day.
Who: ANYONE AND EVERYONE! All are welcome. The event is open to everyone, you can do as much or as little of the dance as you like and all ages, genders and abilities are welcome. You can go full Kate Bush with your costume or simply wear a bit of red as nod to the red dress Kate wears in the video. If you don’t want to take part but just watch, that’s fine too! We want to have as many people as possible come along to make the first ever Birmingham “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever” an afternoon to remember!
How: If you’d like to take part then you can download the instructional videos which break down each section. Once you’ve learned the chorus dance, you’rehalf way there! You DO NOT need to do any of it perfectly, it’s not a test, it’s for fun! So have a go but don’t worry if you can’t do it all or need to just do something different for part of it due to any physical needs.
Travelling to York Road: If you live near by and are able to, then please walk to York Road. If you live further away and are able to get public transport then we encourage you to do so. York Road is off the main Kings Heath High Street which is on the number 35 and 50 bus routes from Birmingham City Centre. If you do need to drive then there is a car park on Institute Road, B14 7EG.
Please allow plenty of time to be on York Road and ready to start at 2pm!
If you have any questions about accessibility or anything at all then please do contact us hello@theheathbookshop.co.uk We want you to be there and enjoy it so there are no silly questions and we will do what we can do make sure anyone that wants to be there can be there and enjoy it!
Please share this with friends, family, anyone!! See you on the 27th July!
