We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have BRIAN BILSTON
joining The Heath Bookshop at Birmingham City University, for another
one of his brilliant events. He will be talking and reading from his
latest book, 'And So This is Christmas'.

This event will be held at the City South Campus on Westbourne Road, B15 3TN in Room SCT 050.

Brian will be speaking for around an hour. There will then be a book signing afterwards.

Brian Bilston has been described as the Banksy of poetry and Twitter’s unofficial Poet Laureate; with an ever-growing band of devoted followers on social media 250k+ and counting), Brian has become truly beloved by the online community and now spends much of his time away from the keyboard and on the road touring with his hugely popular live shows. Brian’s first collection of poetry, You Took the Last Bus Home, was published by Unbound. Diary of a Somebody (Picador) was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award and the McKitterick Prize. Alexa, What Is There To Know About Love?, his next collection, was described by one reviewer as 'the funniest collection of humorous verse I have seen in a long time'. His poem ‘Refugees’ was set to music by Mark Anthony Turnage for his 2019 song cycle of the same name, and Fifty Ways to Score a Goal, is a collection of poems about football for children. Days Like These, his previous collection, will be released in paperback this autumn.

And So This is Christmas:

It's that time of year again. With his signature wit, Brian Bilston returns with And So This is Christmas, fifty-one poems in celebration of the festive season: from bizarre family traditions to the office Christmas party; from voting day for turkeys to the impossible art of gift-giving. So hang your stockings, grab your mistletoe and curl up with this heart-warming collection of Christmas crackers.

What is the Handling Charge for?

To ensure tickets are delivered safely and securely and to keep the price as low as possible for you, the ticket buyer, The Heath Bookshop generally uses our E-ticket system unless otherwise stated.

For this service we charge a small Handling Fee to cover the debit/credit card processing fees, customer services, processing and distribution of tickets and our secure server costs. We always try to keep these costs to an absolute minimum. If you feel at any time that our prices are not fair or competitive we'd be happy to hear from you.

Delivery

If you have ordered physical paper tickets there is a further Delivery cost added to cover the delivery of your order through the Royal Mail network.

We always endeavour to keep these costs as low as possible to merely cover the costs of postage. We only charge you one Delivery cost per order so if there is a big group of you recommend purchasing larger amounts in one order.

When you purchase tickets through The Heath Bookshop, the full face value of the ticket is shown. This price is the price set by the event organiser and we pay this full amount to the organiser without any deductions.
