The Heath Bookshop is delighted to welcome Grace Dent with her new book "Comfort Eating".

Comfort Eating is an intimate collection filled to the brim with relatable and heart-warming personal stories and celebrates the comfort foods we've acquired through life and tuck into when no one else is looking. These foods are deeply personal, steeped in nostalgia and topped with a healthy dollop of guilty pleasure and Grace's talent lies in revealing and reliving these with such heart, warmth and humour. Comfort Eating finds Grace inviting readers to her kitchen table to discover what makes the things we really eat so delicious. As she explores her go-to comfort foods through a series of joyous encounters, she catches up with famous friends to discover their secret snacks — from Jo Brand's fried bread sandwich and Russell T Davies' butter pepper rice to Scarlett Moffat's crushed Wotsits-topped beans on toast and many, many more.

Comfort Eating is unfussy, honest and the essential Christmas gift for anyone with an interest in food. But it's also for anyone interested in the mentality behind the comfort eat and all the humanity that can be found in the love of school dinner or the joy of that first scalding oven chip. . . Alongside food, the book explores grief, coming of age, Grace's first job in the city, diet culture and much else.

Grace Dent is a columnist, broadcaster and author; she is the Guardian's restaurant critic. She regularly appears on MasterChef UK and presents Best of Britain by the Sea with Ainsley Harriott. Dent was named Restaurant Writer of the Year at the 2022 Fortnum & Mason Food Awards; her memoir Hungry won the Lakeland Book Prize and the Fortnums Book Award. She hosts the podcast Comfort Eating which has received over 2.5 million downloads and was named the Podcast of the Year at the 2022 British Media Awards. @gracedent

What is the Handling Charge for?

To ensure tickets are delivered safely and securely and to keep the price as low as possible for you, the ticket buyer, The Heath Bookshop generally uses our E-ticket system unless otherwise stated.

For this service we charge a small Handling Fee to cover the debit/credit card processing fees, customer services, processing and distribution of tickets and our secure server costs. We always try to keep these costs to an absolute minimum. If you feel at any time that our prices are not fair or competitive we'd be happy to hear from you.

Delivery

If you have ordered physical paper tickets there is a further Delivery cost added to cover the delivery of your order through the Royal Mail network.

We always endeavour to keep these costs as low as possible to merely cover the costs of postage. We only charge you one Delivery cost per order so if there is a big group of you recommend purchasing larger amounts in one order.

When you purchase tickets through The Heath Bookshop, the full face value of the ticket is shown. This price is the price set by the event organiser and we pay this full amount to the organiser without any deductions.
